I'm thinking this should play well to people concerned about Obama's national security and defense experience. I've liked Powell for a long time, with the exception of a period from about mid-October of 2001 until his resignation from the Bush "administration."; October 20, 2008 12:58 PM

I also don't think that it's all that surprising that Powell is supporting Obama -- and not, as asserted by the Drug-Addled Gasbag, because they're both black. The reason it's not surprising is because Colin Powell knows that Obama's policies on the war, the military, and veterans are better by a yardarm than John McCain's. The active duty military knows it too, as is evidenced by their giving money to Obama over McCain in a 6:1 ratio.
